aren't you afraid., Be bold and fearless

It’s been quite a year. Right!? Full of highs, lows and everything in between.
Such is life. There are so many things out of my control that I realize more and more the importance of changing the dialogue that goes on right between my ears.
Knowing that I am capable, loved, guided and protected at all times. That I am good enough…right here, right now. and that if I have a calling to do something, then doggonnitt I better frickin’ do it (you too, ok?).
I finally started taking risks in my business this year (thank you baby Jesus)! I spent last year so terrified to put myself out there and caring way to much what others might think.
I’ve done so many things in 2014 that terrified the heck out me: spoken in public, led workshops, self-promotion, video interviews, asking people for money in exchange for my services, talking to strangers, pitching my self and posting in FaceBook groups (which is oddly scary for some reason).
Turns out the fear doesn’t go away. You really do have to do it to get through it.
I’ve taken my business more seriously and it’s paying off (I know I won’t have to go back to a day job!)
But you know the biggest pay off has been a renewed sense of confidence and a stronger sense of self…I feel like I’m living with more purpose, especially as I shed the care about what others may or may not think – ain’t nobody got time for that.
And I’m ready for more in 2015. My theme is going to be…BOLD.
Yup. I’m daring myself to get out there in even bigger ways and I want to challenge you to do the same!
No more hiding out, playing small or not fully owning your reason for being. If you’ve got something you want to bring out into the world then it’s time to step out and make it happen in a big way.
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” – Paulo Coelho
I’m going to be talking a lot about what it takes to live a life that really lights you up and giving a regular behind the scenes look into what works and what doesn’t when it comes creating your dream business and making money online.
What’s your theme for 2015? What’s your one bold goal…something that would be life changing for you?
Wishing you a happy holidays…Thank you for being a part of this adventure with me. I’ll see you in the New Year!!!

hard work vs smart work

Once a giant ship engine failed. To fix it right, the owners called up a few experts, none of them could figure out the problem. The owners had heard about an old man who had been fixing ships from his young age, so they decided to call him up.

The old man walks in with a bag full of tools and started with the inspection of the engine. After some time, the old man reached his bag, pulled out a small hammer and gently tapped. Soon after that the engine started working.

A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.
Shocked with the bill, the owners wrote to the old man asking for an itemised bill.

The old man sent a bill that read:
Tapping with a hammer…. $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap……. $ 9,998.00

Of course tapping with a hammer was not that of a job to be paid with ten thousand dollars but his years of experience and hard work justifies the bill. Inspecting the problem with the engine was smarter than what the other experts did. The old man must be very smart!
One of the most debatable topics is over the smart work and the hard work. Most of the times smart work wins over hard work but the hidden fact is every smart work has always a background of some hard work.
This reminds of the time when I underestimate people by saying “How could he bill so much when all he did was a little something.” I think we all have felt that at least once in our lives. Maybe we never tried looking at things from this angle.
“Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference!”
Now this makes me wonder how on earth one knows how to tackle something and where to put in all the effort. Well… What are stupid mistakes for? It teaches you all the ways a thing can’t work and when you know that you know the remaining possible ways a thing could work. Maybe, being stupid makes you smart someday.
That’s the beauty my friend. Years of experience, litres of sweat and hundreds of stupid mistakes will help you find a way. And when you find it, you know the right place to put in all your efforts. And when you do it that is where you bring in the big difference in your life.
I know this isn’t a proper justification of whether hard work or smart work is important. But yes! We can never ignore the fact that the proper channelization of hard work has a major chance to create a smart work .

Don't say ‘Iss Desh Ka Kuch Nahi Ho Sakta’

Everywhere we look, we find problems: discrimination, child labour, lack of proper care for senior citizens... We blame the society and the government. So yes, we are AWARE that there's a lot to be done. But then why don't we do something about these problems?
There are lots of videos which try to spell out these problems. But for those of us who already know what the problem is, it is important to find the solutions. This video is an attempt by Sky Aviator Filmsto present possible resolutions. Let’s take this as a starting point and think of more ways to make this world a better place. Together, we surely can!

#DeliveryMan: the unsung heros of online shopping

Oh! How we love online shopping. We are very thankful to the one who came up with this idea of door delivery. How easy and convenient. Everything comes to your doorstep. And when the product is delivered at your footstep, all you do is receive the package with a smiling face, sign the confirmation, shut the door behind, and……….Wait! Are we missing something here? Oh yeah! the thank you part. We are so happy and excited looking at the parcel that saying thank you looks like our least priority.
The delivery men drives so far to deliver your package safe. They do get irritated with finding your house address but still tries a couple of other times and a couple of other ways to reach you. And not to forget to mention the times when you are not at home, they drive back and come again sometime later for you. In all, they have made our lives so easy and comfortable.
Here is what Google India did to thank the unsung heroes of online shopping. They said thank you. Nah….! Not just the mere words. Watch this video, they chose the perfect way to thank them.
Could you think of any better way Google India could have chosen to thank them? It’s the time of GOSF now( Google Online Shopping Festival)  and thousands of door deliveries happen every day. They drive hundreds of kilometers every day and what better gift can we think about. of course? Their safety is the first thing they should be concerned about and we are happy to know Google India has taken an initiative to care for them and appreciate their work. I remember a few days ago a few retailers were on a strike to stop the online services as it resulted in their loss. Well, lucky for us it doesn’t look like its going to stop. Thanks to all those people who made shopping so easy, cheap and convenient.
Well… I know most of us thank the delivery men, but there is something more you can add to make them feel good. No… I am not suggesting you to spend money and do something for them. If you want to, that’s very kind of you. Here is an easy way, add a little more smile and a lot more gratitude to thank them and stop using the bland “thank you.” from now on.

The Final Face of The Rohtak Sisters

How does a Man prove he did not Molest, in a Molestation Case?
How does a Man prove he did not demand Dowry, in a Dowry Case?
There happened to take place a series of twists and turns in the case of‪#‎RohtakSisters‬ fighting molesters on a Haryana bus; an incident that led to nation-wide outrage. The Logical Indian team, along with Deepika Bhardwaj, an independent journalist traveled to Rohtak to dig deep into the case and find out the true face of the Rohtak sisters.
Watch out the video to view the findings.

The Logical Indian sincerely hopes that we all realize the seriousness of the fact that ‘false cases’ of crime against women are an injustice to not only the men but also the women who are genuinely abused. It’s time to ponder, what if the boys are innocent? Who pays for the time they spend in jail, and who pays for the abuses and the humiliation? Shouldn’t there be an equally strict law against the ones who register false cases? It’s high time we think about a solution. Kindly share your thoughts and suggestions with #CrimeHasNoGender

practical thoughts to avoid your stress

Well this is something we deal with on a day to day basis, I agree that being tensed might not be as severe as being stressed or anxious but it is right up the alley! Tension is not as bad a thing as it is talked to be, but it can turn into one if you let. Well, here are 9 different thoughts that can help you deal with this tension and get on track of your daily life.

What is the difference between stress and tension?
There is a very light difference between the two. Tension is something which we have in anticipation of something, the iota of that doubt whether we would be able to do something or not. Whereas stress is at a time when there is a looming fear on the top of our head which keeps telling us that we cannot do it. So, in a way, tension is something which can lead to stress and stress is something which can lead you to anxiety which can further lead you to panic and then depression. Whoa! There are a whole set of words here!!
Well! Whatever these definitions are, the best way to respond to them is attacking them at the source and resolving them right there, nip the problem at the bud, let it not intensify, let it not get to a stage where it goes off your hand. It is easier to solve it at this stage.

What gets you tensed?
What is it that makes you tensed? For me, it is the fear whether I would be able to live up to my standards or the expectations of people. It is the fear sometimes whether I would be able to deliver the expected results or whether I would get what I truly deserve in life and so many more thoughts like those. What are yours? What gets you tensed?

What makes you happy? What can change your mood with the clap of your hand?
what makes you happy, how to relieve tension, how to relieve stress
What makes you happy?
(Img-welcomia.com)
If you know the answer to the first question above, there is no way you can say that you don’t know the answer for this. What is it that helps you set your mind off and on, what resets you. What makes you think that there is nothing but this only one thing – Is it being with your loved one, is it music, is it going out for a run, is it talking to a trusted friend, is it watching a hilarious movie or writing a post like this? Whatever it is, you need to come up with your stress buster list. This is a part of knowing yourself better.

What is the tension trying to tell you?
Why is it that you are getting tensed? Is it because you think that you have taken too much of responsibility than you can handle? Is it because you are uncertain whether you can do something or not?
But what is this tension trying to tell you? Is it asking you to improve your quality? Is it asking you to doubt your capacities? Is it asking you to test your levels of preparation? What is the underlying message in this tensed scenario? What is the true message it is trying to deliver?

How much of it is real?
The first important question we ask about a fear is – How much of it is real?! It reminds me of the quote from Will Smith – ” Fear is not real, danger is”. True, fear is an illusions, it makes us think a lot of things and it makes us think of a lot of scenarios of which most of them never occur. As Mark Twain says – ” I suffered a great many misfortunes in my life – Most of which never happened!
At some point, we need to ask ourselves if we are over thinking it! Remember, a man who thinks more than necessary suffers more than necessary. You need to find a way to come out of this trap.
Identify the real and the imaginary fears, segregate them, this will help you realize what you should be taking action upon – some real and some imaginary!

What can you do about it?
What is the action you can take right now to relieve you out of this? If you have a hundred phone calls to make in the next 2 days and you are stressed about it – what is the best way you can go about it? Maybe making a list of similar phone calls can help. Making those questions you need to ask and finding a similarity between them and organizing accordingly. If there is anything you can do along with it, mixing it helps or in other words it is called chunking – for example you can mix learning and exercise by simply using an earphone and an audio book while you run or exercise or cook. You can save time, you can find a way to work it out.

Remember that there is always a solution
Just because you are completely stressed out and you feel that there is no way out doesn’t mean that there is no way out. If the traditional methods don’t come to your rescue, use the unconventional ones. History is not made by people who have always followed the rules. History is made by the crazy ones who found ways to come up with innovative solutions. Steve Jobs could have retired when he was sacked from Apple, cos there didn’t seem to a straightforward solution. But it took something more to hold on to it. The belief in yourself trumps all. You got to keep respecting yourself.

Stop disrespecting yourself!
Everytime you say that you are not capable, everytime you doubt your ability, you are insulting yourself. Everytime you get tensed because of these reasons, you are insulting yourself. Stop that! Stop putting yourself through this! You are better than that.

And know that it is a cyclic effect!
It is a cyclic situation when you don’t do anything about it cos you are too worried about something and that in turn gives you something else to worry about which in turn gives you something more and so on. The cycle never ends.
Apart from these, I can always suggest listening to good music or yoga or meditation or many other ways with which you can control it or distract yourself with, but I would rather say, understanding yourself better is way more powerful than anything else can give you. The other factors can amplify certain essence of you, but this is who you are and this is how great you can be, so why not be that?

Stop Being Tortured with the past, rise up and modify it

By Debbie Hampton

Man Thinking
“The most positive action we can take about the past is to change our perception of it.” ~Deepak Chopra
Death didn’t happen quickly like in the movies.
A compassionate nurse set the tone and gently guided us through the ordeal. Mom, Dad, my other brother, and I spread out so that one of us held each of Chris’ hands and feet with a person at his head. Time passed in slow motion.
In horror, I watched for more than an hour as his breathing abated, with the pauses in between his raspy, strained breaths becoming longer and longer. I fervently sent him love and light and wished him peace as I watched the scene unfold through my tears.
Chris’ lips were chapped and cracked from breathing oxygen through a mask for weeks. A piece of skin on his upper lip fluttered with each breath, but in the prolonged pauses between breaths, it lay still. Each time the skin went inert, I thought, “This is it.”
But he would take another shallow breath one more time until the flap was frozen and his chest motionless forever. Putting a stethoscope over his heart, the nurse said, “It’s awfully quiet in there.”
It was New Year’s Eve 1995. After two years of rapidly declining health, Chris, my brother with the wicked sense of humor, flawless taste, and the ability to make me believe he was invincible, succumbed to AIDs at the age of thirty-three.
In the years following his death, I numbly went on with my life, like I was supposed to, like I had to. Being the mother of two beautiful, energetic young boys, there was plenty to be happy about and thankful for, but I only grew more depressed as the gruesome scenes of Chris’ sickness and death played on an endless loop in my head.
As time passed, Chris became a distant memory, like a book I knew I’d read once but couldn’t quite recall. I knew how the story ended, but the details were blurred behind a cloud of hurt.
Over the years, the highlights reel of the ugliness from my eighteen-year marriage and divorce got equal mental airtime along with the drama from a subsequent tumultuous three-year relationship.
Eleven years after that New Year’s Eve in the hospital, I found myself a depressed, divorced, single mother with no idea who I was or why I was here.
I couldn’t find anything resembling the strong, smart, feisty sister Chris had loved. In a pill-popping stunt, I tried to commit suicide, which only made things worse—much worse—resulting in a serious brain injury and losing custody of my boys.
While healing from the suicide attempt, I realized that I had been torturing myself with the painful memories. I was doing it to myself! While this point may be apparent to some, it was a huge “aha” for me, and I also realized that if I was doing it, I could stop it.
Yes, Chris died and went through a horrible illness. Yes, there were many messy times from my marriage, and hurts from the following relationship. All of it really did happen—no denying that—but I was the one keeping the pain alive and bringing it into the present.
It really boiled down to making the decision not to do this to myself anymore.
Because of neuroplasticity, the scientifically proven ability of our brains to change form and function based on repeated behaviors, emotions, and thoughts, the more I dwelled on the sad memories, the more I reinforced them.
“Neurons that fire together, wire together.” This saying, from the work of Donald Hebb, means that synapses, the connections between neurons, get more sensitive and new neurons grow when activated repeatedly together.
Our brains also add a subjective tint to our memories by subconsciously factoring in who you are and what you believe and feel at the time of the recollection. The act of remembering changes a memory. So, as I became more depressed and hopeless, the memories became darker.
But, the good news is that the reverse is also true. Neural connections that are relatively inactive wither away, and a person can consciously influence the process in a positive, healthier way. I made the memories stronger and more painful, and I could make them weaker and more loving.
Through mindfulness and meditation, I learned to become aware of and take control of my thoughts and mind. By realizing my subconscious influences and consciously choosing which ones I allowed to have impact and intentionally inserting new ones, I changed my past.
Not literally, of course. But by pairing more positive thoughts and emotions with negative memories and feelings and modifying my perspective about past events, I changed their role in my present, which, in turn, altered my brain and life for the better.
The goal is not to resist painful memories or experiences and grasp at or try to force positive ones instead. That’s almost impossible and leads to its own kind of suffering.
To gradually replace negative implicit memories with positive ones, just make the positive aspects prominent and relatively intense in the foreground of your awareness while simultaneously placing the negative material in the background….
Because of all the ways your brain changes its structure, your experience matters beyond its momentary, subjective impact. It makes enduring changes in the physical tissues of your brain which affect your well-being, functioning and relationships.
If your head is filled with painful memories of the past, I want you to know that you can change this! I did.
I certainly still remember Chris’ tragic illness and death, but I choose to focus on the times we laughed so hard that we got the “gigglesnorts.” I prefer to see him on the dance floor working up a sweat. I recall how much he loved me and that adored feeling I had when I was with him.
I even view his death differently now. Instead of feeling the horror and shock of that night, I can now feel the love and support for him and one another in that hospital room.
In any life, past and present, there’s always going to be pain, joy, and everything in between. Your experience of your life and your brain are shaped by what you choose to focus on. You can torture yourself with the past or choose better feeling thoughts and memories.
It really is that simple. Simple, but not easy.

TIME ‘Person of the Year': Ebola Fighters

None of us guessed this to become the TIME ‘Person of the Year’. At least not for the Indians who knew the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the top in the list. Indians vote sums up to 16% of the almost 5 million votes casted this year. A few of us might be disappointed for not seeing Modi’s name as the ‘Person of the Year.’ But I am very sure that the same WE are happy to know that Ebola Fighters are termed as the ‘Person of the Year.‘ The Ebola fighters, the doctors, the caregivers, the nurses,  the scientists, the directors truly deserve to be on the top of the list.

FERGUSON PROTESTERS, THE ACTIVISTS
Ferguson protestThe activists who fought for the justice to the young man Michael Brown, 18-year-old black man, was fatally shot by Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson police officer of  St. Louis County, Missouri, United States.
Brown was walking with his friend on the middle of the street when the police officer drove up and told them to move to the sidewalk. It led to an altercation which later ended up with the police officer shooting the young man with about 7 bullets. This led to the unrest protest by the people in Ferguson and the longstanding racial tensions between the majority-black population. They built a movement to bring into a picture of all the fatal racial discrimination and injustice happening with the people there.

Are you demotivated? it's time recover

Some days you wake up and right when you are going to begin your work, you feel a presence within you that stops you from doing so. You sit down, but you sit down quietly this time. Suddenly, that feeling where you once were so passionate and energized to take action just isn’t there anymore. You try to hype yourself up but it’s not working, and everything you do seems to be counterintuitive. You face the truth. You don’t want to work today and you don’t feel motivated to do anything but just escape. Without this motivation, you feel a little hopeless, lost, and stuck.
Sometimes we get stuck in a rut. If you’re not a hundred percent passionate about your work, then it’s impossible to wake up every day feeling motivated when you wake up. You might compare it to the ocean. Sometimes you’ll wake up feeling like a tsunami, other time you’ll feel like just barely drifting to shore. When you feel like drifting to the shore, understand that it doesn’t always have to feel like there’s no hope. You can still feel inspired when there’s no motivation.

1. Connecting the Dots

“Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” –Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs at a Stanford commencement speech said that giving this speech the students was the closest thing he came to graduating college. He’s never finished college. He recalls that the working class savings that his parents had made their entire life was being spent on his tuition on a college he says was as almost as expensive as Stanford. After 6 months, he couldn’t see the value in it and dropped out. Not knowing where to go in life, he decided to take a class in calligraphy. He, however, didn’t see any practical application for it in life.
Ten years later, they were designing the first Macintosh computer, and it all came back to him. He used the ideas that he had learned in calligraphy class, including the different types of typography, and put it in the Mac. It was the first computer to have beautiful typography, which has affected the different types of typography that we use today. If he had never dropped out in collage, he would have never taken that calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do today.
Sometimes when you’re trying to reach a goal, it’s impossible to connect the dots where you currently are. Somehow you just have to trust in yourself, and have faith that you will reach your dreams, despite not having the slightest clue or perfectly laid out road to where you are going. Nobody can connect the dots looking forward; you only can connect them when you’re looking backwards. You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in the future; you have to trust in something, whether it’s karma or destiny, but trusting yourself is the first step towards feeling inspired and having the motivation to move forward.

2. Allowing Your Environment to Predetermine Your Mood

“There is a direct correlation between an increased sphere of comfort and getting what you want.” –Timothy Ferriss
Tim Ferriss has always advocated the idea of using your environment to your advantage. He believes that controlling your environment is often much more effective than relying on self-discipline. He finds that he writes the best between the hours of midnight and 1 AM to 3 to 4 in the morning. As he is writing, he will put a movie in the background so it will feel like he is in a social environment, even though the entire movie is on mute. Next to him may be a glass of tea. This is what puts him in the mood to do quality writing and make him so successful.
Look around your room right now or your workspace. Does it inspire you? Does it give you motivation? Is it noisy or quiet? Sometimes the hardest thing we do to ourselves is try to force ourselves to work in an area that is subconsciously telling us, “I can’t work here.”
And when you are constantly trying to discipline yourself, you will feel worse and be less productive. Instead try to build your ideal workplace and ideal time. Free it from distractions. Perhaps add a piece of artwork or a quote of your favorite person nearby you on the wall. Maybe add a beautiful plant in the corner to give you inspiration. If you feel more energy and enthusiasm during the night, schedule your day to work at midnight if you can. If you can realize the power of having a productive environment, you will naturally feel inspired and motivated to get work done.

3. Don’t Work So Hard

“Research now seems to indicate that one hour of inner action is worth seven hours of out-in-the-world action. Think about that. You’re working too hard.” –Jack Canfield
Jack Canfield was once giving a speech to an audience. He tells of a story of a chiropractor who went into his dream city, near Pebble Beach, and asked chiropractor associate if they could hire them. They told him no because they had 1 chiropractor for every 8 patients. Instead of letting his external reality which was out of his control determine his future, he went back to visualize and think about it, and something would come to him. He put a pen in his new office one day, and put concentric circles that he needed to go ask people in town that he was opening up a new chiropractor office and if they were interested in joining.
Over 6 months he knocked on 12,500 doors, talked to 6,500 people, and gathered over 4000 names to the people who wanted to go to his open house. He opened his chiropractor in a town he was told there was too many chiropractor. In his first month in practice, he netted $72,000. In his first year in practice his gross income was over a million in income.
Now you may look at this and say knocking on 12,500 doors is hard work. To you it is, but to the man it was probably effortless. Jack Canfield says there are 2 types of action – outer and inner. Outer action is actually going out to do the action – whether it’s networking with people, going door-to-door to make a sale, or just writing at home. Inner action is other things like visualization, meditation, and affirmations.
If you’re trying to force your way into taking action, it could be a sign that you are working too hard. Most people won’t wake up and waste an hour visualizing, meditating, or affirming, and the first thing they think about is asking what do I need to do today? And when they get the answer, they feel miserable, as if their work suddenly weighs them down. But Canfield says that if you spend time to focus on your goals, you’ll receive good feelings – feelings that help you feel inspired and motivated to take real action.
Don’t try to paddle upstream. That’s just basically going everyday saying to yourself that you need to force yourself to work every day. Instead, paddle along the stream of the river. Trust yourself, let your environment work in your favor, and spend some a little bit of time putting yourself in a state before you work. Inspiration will come to you from different ways – inside and out – and give you the motivation to guide yourself towards reaching your dreams.
